The three tracks on this new cassingle from ADAM VOID were recorded during the same session as last year's American Accents album. However, their energy set them apart for a different future. Darkness, contemplation, abrasion, a desperate exertion. The sounds line up with Adam's earlier noisy electronic experimentation but blended with the anxiety of daily life in the first quarter of the 21st century. There are elements of harsh noise, spoken word, power electronics, post-industrial, circuit bending, and guitar noise. Just enough to set the mood for your next freak out or inner agitation.
The product itself fits the same mood as the sounds that are recorded onto it. A translucent blue cassette with pad printed labeling, nestled inside a cozy paper sleeve. Signaling back to the cassingle or maxi-single format of the 80s and 90s. So many of those in my rack, the paper wraps warped from water damage with the mold of ages inside the fibers.
